Dear Kier’s Kidz Family and Friends:
A few weeks ago, Sarah and Usra Attalla, two of Kier’s Kidz wonderful Board members, delivered again on a promise that we made to Imam Sohaib Sultan, for Chaplain at Princeton University, to improve the lives of people hospitalized with cancer.
Chaplain Sultan had a Zoom meeting with us literally one week before he died from cancer. His wish was for the people of Kier’s Kidz to help improve cancer treatment facilities' psychological, spiritual, and physical environments. He briefly spoke of his experience of how his time in treatment was unnecessarily more difficult because of the relative lack of attention given to the impact these facilities have on the psychological and spiritual life of their patients. We promised to help fulfill his wish. Sarah and Usra have been the leaders of the Chaplain Sohaib Sultan Project of Kier’s Kidz right from the beginning.
Having conferred with the staff of CINJ’s pediatric oncology unit, Sarah and Usra purchased gifts for the young children and adolescents that would make their time in and out of the unit more pleasant. They bought the kids their own dinosaur or unicorn fleece blankets, drawing books, memory foam travel-neck pillows, and noise-canceling earphones. These cool and comforting gifts will make the kids’ treatment experiences just that much better.
I want to thank Sarah and Usra for the thought, time, and energy they put into these acts of love and charity. Sohaib Sultan would be proud of them. We at Kier’s Kidz sure are. And I’m sure the kids are loving their gifts.
Please help children, adolescents, and young adults with cancer by supporting our work at www.kierskidz.com/. None of us is paid for our work, so all your money goes to help our clients.
Thanks.
Love, Peace, and Health,
Larry Perfetti

Dear Kier’s Kidz Friends and Family:
Unlike so many kids, Kier used to love this time of year because school was starting. She was back with her school friends, she was ready to take on her new courses, and she couldn’t wait until school athletics got started.
Kier played or managed so many sports that it’s hard to believe that she had time for anything else. But she participated in other school functions and studied hard most nights. Of course, she was also glued to the TV when the Yankees were playing. Oh, her Yankees. And Derek Jeter.
I never met a kid who had the energy, zest for life, and love of all things living as Kier did. Even in the delivery room, she moved her head around when she heard someone or something. Of course, Kier was especially tuned into Mimi’s and my voices because she had heard them for much of her gestation time. I used to talk to her through Mimi’s stomach to let her know we were waiting for her and to tell her stories of how much we were looking forward to hugging and kissing her. And she sure loved being held and kissed after she made her big arrival.
Kier always moved toward people and life. She was a close friend to many. She helped people as much as she could. She loved kids and the way they thought, expressed themselves, and played. Kier never lost that child-like wonder of life.
So, this is one of those days when I wonder what Kier at 39 y.o. would be doing with her life. Something fun, I’m sure. And meaningful. With plenty of love and plenty of energy.
Seize the day, as Kier did even before she heard the phrase. Find some love in your heart, some joy in relationships, and give help to those who need it.
Love and Peace,
Larry
