Kier's Kidz is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that helps kids and young adults with cancer and their families. We help to underwrite pediatric cancer research. We work closely with Kier's Kidz at Rutgers and with our H.S. Kids Please donate at www.kierskidz.com.
Dear Kier’s Kidz Family and Friends:
I want to call your attention to an unbelievable opportunity for kids with cancer or sickle cell, their siblings, and parents. And it’s free. No, really free.
Happiness Is Camping is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that is located in Blairstown, NJ. The camp offers several programs for children, teens, and young adults who have or have had cancer.
You can view these programs at www.happinessiscamping.org/camp/programs-2/.
The camp is open to children from all states, not just NJ.
At our latest Kier’s Kidz Speakers event, Ryan Campbell, the camp director, gave us an overview of the camp’s decades-long history, goals, and offerings. We also learned about the camp’s fantastic facilities and staff. Two oncologists and three oncology nurses are on staff, available to provide medical care and even chemotherapy for campers. What caught my attention most were all the outdoor activities a summer camp should have. Of course, the lake in the middle of the camp and the report of bass and crappy residents of the lake perked up my ears.
Please take a look at the camp. If you have or know a child, teen, or young adult with cancer or sickle cell who may be up for some camping this summer, check out the camp at www.happinessiscamping.org/. Spread the word.
Kiersten was fortunate enough to go to the winter session of Camp Mak-A-Dream in Montana only months before she died from cancer. She absolutely loved the camp, her cohort, the staff, and her adventures there. Mimi and I have supported that camp ever since.
Please repost this if you can. You never know whom you will help.
Thanks.
Love and Peace and Happiness,
Larry Perfetti
